KSI Sitting Out Misfits 21: What's Really Going On?

I was scrolling through my notifications last night when my brother texted me: "Is KSI actually fighting tomorrow?" Had to laugh. The amount of confusion around Misfits 21 has been absolutely wild since that March postponement. Let me clear things up.

No. KSI won't be stepping into the ring tonight in Derby. Not even close.

The Illness That Broke "The Nightmare"

Back in March, we were all geared up for KSI vs Dillon Danis at Manchester's AO Arena. I'd even booked a hotel room that ended up costing me £175 I'll never see again. Then boom – KSI pulls out days before the fight claiming illness.

His explanation was actually pretty raw: "I legit f***ing cried at some point last week, man. I was just so angry because I've literally killed myself for so many weeks putting myself through so much s***."

Damn. Never thought I'd feel bad for the guy.

He described trying to push through sparring sessions where he "can't even breathe" and feeling too weak to punch properly. The fight got scrapped, and here we are in May with a completely reworked card.

Wait... has it really been THAT long since he won?

Here's a sobering fact that shocked me when I double-checked the dates – KSI hasn't won a boxing match since January 2023. That's nearly two and a half years ago! His last appearance was that loss to Tommy Fury back in October 2023, which feels like ancient history in internet time.

The Fury defeat clearly hit him hard. I was at teh post-fight press conference, and you could see it in his eyes – that wasn't the outcome he'd visualized during all those training montages on YouTube.

Tonight's Actual Card (The One You're Getting)

So instead of KSI, we've got Darren Till vs Darren Stewart as our main event. Two former MMA guys trying their hand at boxing. It's like watching someone switch from PlayStation to Xbox – same basic idea, totally different controller.

The card's actually pretty stacked if you're into this whole influencer boxing scene. Chase DeMoor defends his heavyweight title against Tank Tolman, adn Idris Virgo faces off with Ty Mitchell for the middleweight belt.

My personal highlight? That bizarre Survivor Tag match featuring Curtis Pritchard (yes, the Love Island guy) against Tempo Arts, Big Tobz and Godson. I watched Curtis trying to shadowbox on Instagram yesterday... God. Poor lad looks like he's swatting away invisible mosquitoes.

So When Will KSI Actually Return?

Your guess is as good as mine.

The silence from his camp has been deafening. My contact at Misfits (who texts me after three beers with all the gossip) says there's nothing concrete on the calendar yet. "He's rebuilding," was the exact phrase. Whatever that means.

Catch The Action Tonight

If you're still keen to watch despite KSI's absence, coverage starts at 7pm on DAZN. They'll charge you £14.99 for a monthly subscription or £119.99 for the year – which seems steep until you remember what regular boxing PPVs cost these days.

I'll be watching with a takeaway and probably tweeting things I'll regret tomorrow morning. The main event ring walks should happen around 10:30pm, unless someone else suddenly comes down with a mysterious illness.

Let's just hope it delivers more entertainment than that pancake-throwing press conference back in March. Remember that? KSI slapping Danis with actual breakfast food? Boxing is weird in 2025.
