God. I'm actually kinda excited for this one. Been following Chase DeMoor since his early losses when everyone wrote him off as just another reality TV pretty boy trying to play fighter. Five straight wins later and suddenly everyone's on his bandwagon. Typical.

Derby's about to get wild THIS WEEKEND as the Misfits heavyweight championship hangs in teh balance. And let me tell you, this matchup has drama written all over it.

The Redemption Story Nobody Saw Coming

Remember when Chase DeMoor was just that tall dude from Too Hot To Handle? The guy started his boxing career 0-4. ZERO and FOUR. I actually bet my roommate $50 he'd never win a fight after that third loss. Guess who's still waiting for his money back...

Now he's sitting on five straight victories and holding the heavyweight belt. Talk about a turnaround.



DeMoor was originally scheduled to fight Roman Fury (yes, from THAT Fury family) back in March, but when KSI pulled out of his Dillon Danis fight, the whole card collapsed faster than my motivation at the gym.

Who the hell is Tank Tolman anyway?

So instead of Roman Fury, we've got Tanner "Tank" Tolman stepping in. The guy's never had a professional boxing match. Not one. He's coming from MMA with a decent 2-1 record, but this is a completely different game.

Listen. Switching from MMA to boxing is like trying to play tennis after years of badminton. Similar... but different enough to get you embarrassed.

That said, Tank's got that "nothing to lose" energy that makes first-timers dangerous. I watched some of his MMA footage from 2022, and the dude hits HARD. Like, "why are you still standing?" hard.



When's This Thing Happening?

Circle Friday, May 16th on your calendars. The fights are going down at the Vaillant Live arena in Derby.

This is actually the rescheduled Misfits Boxing 21 card that was originally planned for March 29th. Poor event organizers. Imagine having to rebook an entire venue and reschedule all these fighters. (My friend works in event planning and said this kind of shuffle costs tens of thousands in fees alone.)

The card starts at 5pm with DAZN's main coverage kicking in at 7pm. DeMoor and Tolman should be making their ring walks around 8pm, though that's not set in stone.

I'll probably just follow The Sun's live blog because I spent my DAZN money on takeout last weekend. Priorities.

The Whole Damn Card - More Than Just The Main Event

While DeMoor vs Tolman has my attention, there's actually a solid lineup throughout:

Darren Till facing Darren Stewart at cruiserweight could be a banger. Two guys with the same first name fighting each other... always creates weird energy.

And that Survivor Tag bout with Tempo Art, Big Tobz, Godson Umeh and Curtis Pritchard? Absolute chaos waiting to happen. I watched one of these tag matches back in January and it was like watching a carefully orchestrated car crash. Entertaining, but you feel slightly guilty for enjoying it.

Jordan Banjo vs Wil Anderson is another one I'm curious about. Banjo's got the name recognition, but Anderson's got that hungry underdog vibe.

Wakey Wines vs MoDeen might be the sleeper hit of the night. Just saying.

My Completely Unqualified Prediction

DeMoor keeps the belt. His experience advantage is just too significant, adn Tank's MMA habits will work against him in round 3 when fatigue sets in.

But I've been wrong before. Like when I insisted Jake Paul would get destroyed by Tommy Fury. Cost me $75 and my dignity in that office betting pool.

Whatever happens, Derby's in for a show. These Misfits cards are messy, unpredictable, and weirdly addictive... like that gas station sushi I keep buying despite knowing better.
