Jesus Christ. Another day, another boxing press conference that turns into a goddamn circus. I've been covering these things since 2016, and I swear they get more ridiculous every year.
So here's what happened. David Adeleye and Jeamie Tshikeva (or TKV as he's known) are set to beat teh crap out of each other this Saturday in Manchester. British title on the line, DAZN broadcasting it, all that jazz. But apparently these two couldn't wait until the weekend to start throwing hands - or in this case, furniture.
When Tables Become Weapons
TKV - usually the quiet type - completely lost his shit at the presser and tried to launch a whole damn table at Adeleye. Security jumped in (thank God) before anyone got brained by flying furniture.
Adeleye wasn't impressed. At all.

"I know he's obviously trying to make a name for himself," Adeleye told Ring Magazine after the chaos died down. "His manager was saying Jeamie's phone, no one was really calling him or whatnot. So he had to do something to make himself relevant."
Ouch.
The Backstory Nobody Asked For (But I'm Telling You Anyway)
I actually interviewed Adeleye back in January after his comeback win. Poor guy was absolutely gutted after Fabio Wardley knocked him out in Saudi last October - his first professional loss. He told me he'd spent like $3K on additional training just to mentally recover from that setback. But bounce back he did, with a savage first-round demolition of Solomon Dacres in December.
TKV's sitting at 8-1 and apparently has some serious bad blood with Adeleye from their sparring days. These two already had to be physically separated during a talkSPORT interview last month. I was actually in the studio that day (picking up a check for some commentary work), and let me tell you - the tension was so thick you could spread it on toast.

Did Derek Chisora Give TKV Lessons in Table-Flipping?
The whole table-throwing nonsense is straight from Derek Chisora's playbook. Remember when that lunatic threw a table at Dillian Whyte? I do - I was three rows back and nearly wore someone's coffee. These guys are all copying each other's homework at this point.
Listen. The verbal jabs between these two were already getting nasty before furniture started flying.
Adeleye was going IN: "You called me and said, 'I know you're going to do Dacres,' and after that you were saying, 'You're the truth.' Your manager said to me there is nothing for Jeamie, nothing going on for Jeamie and we know he ain't getting nothing."
Then came the real heat: "Let's be real about it. You're a bitch. Every time I fight security come because they know I'm on smoke. With you, there is no security."
When Grown Men Start Pounding Tables...
That's when Adeleye started banging on the table like a toddler denied ice cream, shouting "I'm the truth! Trust me, Jeamie!"
And THAT'S when TKV snapped, grabbed the table and tried to introduce it to Adeleye's face. Security jumped in faster than my editor when I miss a deadline.
Needless to say, the planned face-off was cancelled. Probably for the best... unless DAZN was hoping to market this as "British Boxing Championship AND Furniture Wrestling."
Saturday Night's Gonna Be Spicy
I've got $50 with my buddy Mark that this fight doesn't make it past the fourth round. These two hate each other too much to be patient. It's gonna be bombs away from the opening bell.
And honestly? After covering boxing for 12 years, sometimes these manufactured beefs are just PR stunts. But this one feels different. These guys genuinely can't stand each other.
I'll be ringside on Saturday. Wearing a helmet, just in case.

How to spar as a new boxer safely
Protective gear like gloves, helmets, and mouthguard should always be worn when sparring. Start sparring lightly to concentrate on technique and not power. Discuss intensity with your partner, and then use the time to put into practice what you learned during bag work and drills. It is important to have a coach oversee sparring sessions so that they can provide immediate feedback, and ensure the safety of both partners.
